Medical and Travel Insurance For International Students
All international students studying in New Zealand are required, by the “Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students”, to have medical and travel insurance for the duration of their study. Studentsafe-International
This insurance has been designed to cover international students who are studying in New Zealand, not at a University or Technical Institute, but rather at a school or private training establishment.
This insurance plan has been established to ensure that international students (under the age of 60) studying in New Zealand have appropriate cover that complies with the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students. VisitSafe-Express
Visitsafe-Express is a policy designed for non New Zealand residents who are visiting New Zealand primarily for academic study or work purposes or who have finished a course of study and require cover due to extending their stay in New Zealand. Cover is available for up to 12 months.
Please note the Visitsafe-Express is not a compliant policy in terms of the 'Code of Compliance for the Pastoral Care of International Students' and is therefore not for the use of International Students studying in New Zealand.

Studentsafe-Offshore is a comprehensive international travel insurance policy designed for people who are insured under Studentsafe range of insurance policies, to facilitate cover for:

- PhD research in foreign countries (study fees cover included)

International students who are insured under another Studentsafe insurance plan when taking an Studentsafe-Offshore cover receive a premium discount.
Students who are insured under Studentsafe-University and Studentsafe-Tech preserve their medical history under the local policy when they take up a Studentsafe-Offshore cover.
